The Training

The two months training which is imparted in several locations in the Metro Manila/Laguna area covers the following subjects:

  • Yoga and meditation
  • Martial arts
  • Vegetarianism and nutritional healing
  • First aid and survival
  • Philosophy and psychology
  • Ethics and conduct
  • English
  • Public speaking
  • Leadership and community change
  • Fund raising
  • Computers and internet

Your Trainers
Dada Ratnananda a missionary with extensive experience in yoga, meditation and martial arts.
Dada Bodhaprajinananda is a missionary from India with long working experience with Baba.
Dada Devapriyananda is a missionary with a broad range of leadership training skills and community service.
Jayadeva is professor at Lakan Dula High School. He is a trainer in first aid, survival techniques and personal development.

Other Alumni will lecture on language and public speaking, internet technologies, fundraising and holistic health.

Assignments
There are two types of assignments graduates of the training can choose from. In either case the commitment of each trainee is for two years.

Volunteer in Residence
These volunteers are assigned to various projects and offices throughout Maharlika and South East Asia. Ananda Marga provides a minimum allowance, food and accommodation.

Networked Volunteer
These volunteers may continue their studies or careers but have specific assignments in their community.

Ananda Marga
Ananda Marga has provided volunteer training in Maharlika since 1967. Under the slogan of Self-realization and Service to All, thousands of volunteers have transformed their lives and that of others providing a broad range of service s in the fields of education, relief and welfare.

Ananda Marga combines the comprehensive science of yoga and meditation with  leadership training to offer the skills volunteers in social service need to be self reliant and effective.

Ananda Marga is registered with the Securities and Exchange commission as a non-profit  charitable organization.

Alumni
Past trainees of Ananda Marga’s volunteer program are now doctors, lawyers, politicians, administrators, business people, architects, professors, missionaries and other prominent leaders of society. It was during their years of volunteering their life’s mission crystallized and they gained the strength and attitude to complete their goals without loosing touch with their commitment to social service.

Venue

The training venue is Ananda Marga's ochard in Nagkarlan, Laguna
also known as Ananda Kuranga.

How to get there?
Take the LRT, get off at Gil Puyat station, take the bus going to Sta.Cruz, Laguna, ask the driver to drop you at Masapang. From this point, take a tricycle going straight to Ananda Kuranga or take a jeepney, ask the driver to drop you at Kurva then take a tricycle to Ananda Kuranga.

 Requirements

  • Initiated into Ananda Marga meditation

  • Minimum 16 years of age (parental consent needed for those below 18)

  • Single, male

  • 3R’s (reading, writing & arithmetic)

  • Working knowledge of English

  • Two year service commitment

  • Recommendations of an Ananda Marga Acarya (spiritual teacher)
